VIP 3 DAY TOURS + Countryside & Fishing Community
TourSummary
The Angkor Complex is vast and contains hundreds of temples. It's impossible to see them all in a month, much less in a day, but it is possible to see a few of the major temples. With an experienced tour guide, you'll save time, avoid crowds, and get the most out of your visit by gaining a good understanding of the mythology, history, and architecture. These are private tours; you will not be grouped together with other people in buses.

Day One Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the temples on the recommended one-day itinerary include most famous is Angkor Wat temple, which is the largest religious monument and one of seven wonders of the world! Angkor Wat was built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. The temple is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing Mount Meru, the home of the gods.

After Angkor Wat we will continue to Angkor Thom the ancient capital in the 12th century. This massive complex includes the South Gate of Angkor Thom with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk; Bayon Temple unique for its 54 towers decorated with 216 smiling faces of Bodhisattva Avolokitesvara the God of compassion; Baphuon (recently re-opened after years of restoration); Phimeanakas in the Royal Enclosure; the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Also Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon temple.

Lunch time for your choice of local restaurants.

In the afternoon, we'll visit Ta Prohm, famous for being featured in the Tomb Raider Movie and one of the most beautiful temples in the area. Ta Prohm has been left relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery with massive trees taking root in and around the walls of the temple complex.

We'll move on from there to Banteay Kdei Temple. Prasat Banteay Kdei means "A Citadel of Chambers" or "Citadel of Monk's cells." This is a Buddhist temple in Cambodia located southeast of Ta Prohm and east of Angkor Thom. Built in the mid 12th to early 13th centuries AD during the reign of Jayavarman VII (who was posthumously given the title "Maha paramasangata pada"), it is in the Bayon architectural style, similar in plan to Ta Prohm and Preah Khan, but less complex and smaller.

Afterward we'll enjoy a spectacular sunset at Pre Rup temple far from the crowded spots with busloads of tourists.

Over night in your hotel.

Day Two Tour

In the morning, you will visit Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer Art. Stop at a local village to visit families producing palm sugar.

We'll continue to visit Banteay Samre, one of the most complete complexes at Angkor due to using the “anastylosis” restoration method. The name Samre refers to an ethnic group of mountain people, who inhabited the region at the base of Phnom Kulen and were probably related to the Khmers. No inscriptions have been found for this temple, but the style of most of the architecture is of the classic art of the middle period similar to Angkor Wat. The proportions of Banteay Samre are splendid. A unique feature is an interior moat with laterite paving, which when filled with water must have given an ethereal atmosphere to the temple.

Lunch time for your choice of local restaurants.

In The afternoon, we'll visit Eastern Mebon temple in the center of Eastern Baray, then visit Ta Som, Neak Poan and Preah Khan. Preah Khan was built on the site of Jayavarman VII's victory over the invading Chams in 1191. The modern name means "holy sword".

On your request, your guides will stop for breakfast and lunch or can bring you back to Town for a short rest in between stops.

Typically the day begins after your breakfast and continues until lunch at which time you'll be brought back to Siem Reap to have lunch, do a little shopping, take a swim, or whatever suits you to escape the mid-day heat. Touring begins again at about 2:30 and continues until dusk.

If you want to stay out all day through the break, it's possible to have lunch at one of the local restaurants near the temples.

The day could also include sunrise, which costs extra ($15 for tour guide & transportation).

  Day Three Tours
I work with many villages outside Siem Reap that love to have foreigners for a visit. The friendly people of the countryside are generous and pace of life is slow.

Visiting these villages brings further interest and income to them. A visit is a way for generous individuals to help address the economic imbalance still rampant in Cambodian society.

We leave Siem Reap via National Road 6 toward Phnom Penh. We will stop along the way to see shopping in a countryside market (bamboo sticky rice market and real day market).

Travel with me along the back roads through villages to see rice fields, stilt houses and see life outside the city. Watch locals working on their farms (traditional rice cultivation in vibrant green paddies), water buffaloes basking in plentiful watering holes, kids enjoying their freedom in the countryside, and be amazed how different the speed of their life is compared to bustling Siem Reap.

This tour is for those that want to see and experience the real treasure of Cambodia: its people!

Whether it’s enjoying village life or the smiling faces of the children playing at a local primary school, you are sure to have a once in a lifetime experience.

After that, we'll ride to see the fishing community of Kampong Khleang.

This Village is a fascinating place for any visitor. While we make our way to the floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake, visitors will see fishermen and their families living on each side of the river.

During the rainy season, most of the homes are only accessible by boat. The homes move depending on the flow of the water.

The dry season provides a time for construction of new homes and buildings near the lake.

The lake is crucial to life because fish provide the basis for the economy and well-being of the village. Also, the lake provides 75% of Cambodia’s protein.

Tourists will see some of the most impoverished areas of the province. Cambodia is the poorest country in Southeast Asia and Siem Reap Province remains the second poorest province in the country.

This tour is for those that want to enjoy a trip into the REAL Cambodia.

The ticket for private boat 18USD person, and is not included in the prices below (paid to boat operator owner).
